People seek counselling for a wide range of reasons. In Hong Kong, many expatriates have left their traditional support networks thousands of miles away. For some, this means issues which they may have coped well with at home seem insurmountable here. Counselling can help with difficult decision making, stress reduction, coping with anxiety or depression, marital conflict, loneliness, trauma, parenting or relationships.
Clinical psychologists meet with clients to identify problems—emotional, mental and behavioural—in their lives. Through observation, interviews and tests, the psychologist will diagnose any existing or potential disorders. We offer Clinical Psychology to both children and adults in either individual or group settings.
Speech and Language Therapy aims to increase effective communication skills in individuals who experience communication difficulties. Speech and Language Therapy also strives to promote children’s development of language, speech, behaviour and interpersonal skills by working in the context of a team, and in partnership with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Play Therapists help children and families cope with stress and a variety of emotional and behavioural issues.
Play therapy is a form of counselling or psychotherapy that uses play to help children communicate their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe environment. This child therapy uses a psychotherapeutic approach primarily used to help children and adolescence between 3 to 16 years to resolve any emotional and behavioural issues that are blocking them from moving forward and living a happy, healthy and successful life. This therapy is designed to empower and strengthen the child’s inner world, where they can learn to express themselves in more healthier and constructive ways.
Paediatric Occupational Therapists work with children and their families to promote functional ability, health and wellbeing through occupation. The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable children to participate in the activities of everyday life as independently as possible.
We offer psycho-educational assessments and annual screening programs for both Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy, as well as in-school therapy sessions, during school hours.
